So, I couldn't resist taking part in the Hobbit Fest Blog Hop. Here at Spellmaking Towers we're very excited about the first Hobbit film coming out. Oh yes, very excited indeed, my precious...
Thanks to M. Pax and Tyrean Martinson for organizing.
On to the questions!
What is your favourite hobbit characteristic or the one that you think closely resembles you . . .?
They're not big and they're not strong but by sheer determination they get there in the end, despite the overwhelming odds. So the perfect example to the struggling writer...
If you could choose between a scrumptious second breakfast and a perilous unexpected journey – which would you prefer?
I'm going to go for the second breakfast. And then another cup of coffee after that. Then I can write about a perilous unexpected journey, yes?
Have you ever left behind something on a journey (expected or unexpected) and wished you could have it over and over again? (a pocket handkerchief?)
I seem to have set out on the journey of life without a guide or a map. Still, more exciting that way...
What is your favourite part or quote from the book that you hope will be in the movie?
Oh, how to choose? "We like the dark ... Dark for dark business"? "What has it got in its pocketses"? The conversation with Smaug? Mind you, I guess ths first movie won't get as far as the dragon. We have all that to look forward to...

If The Hobbit needs three films to tell the tale then The Lord of The Rings should have had nine!
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite quote comes from the conversation with Smaug so I'll have to wait for it.
I would have put determination as my first answer if I had thought of it.
ReplyDeletefairyhedgehog - absolutely. Nine would have been very good indeed.
ReplyDeleteTonja - Excellent; thanks for dropping by.
LOL!!!! Pocketses! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteJust printed off your story from last post - can't wait to read it!
Take care
x
Old Kitty - excellent; hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Hobbitfest! I'm short, too. I look forward to seeing the movie. I love your answer about the breakfast and the journey. Genius!
ReplyDeleteYou delivered the perfect answer to the question about breakfast & a journey. And way to wax philosophical in a hobbit fest. ;)
ReplyDeletea trilogy? oh no! shoulda known...

Love your answer to the adventure and breakfast question - I would love to eat my second breakfast and write about a journey simultaneously!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in for Hobbit Fest!
Breakfast and then write about a journey - excellent idea!
ReplyDeleteM Pax/Nicki/Tara/Tyrean/Alex - Thanks all! I'll be on over to yours soon...
ReplyDeleteI do love the pocketses part, so cute. And your answer about writing about the journey rocked! Loved your post :)
ReplyDeleteI want The Hobbit movie NOW! (Doesn't open until Boxing Day here - no fair)
ReplyDeleteGwen - Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteDonna - I won't be seeing it until after Christmas myself - ah, the agony of waiting!
Excellent answers! Coffee, yes. I should have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteThe movie ruled, saw it in three-D, and despite all the awesome...I love the Gollum meeting best. Such a huge moment set in motion by two very small people.
Frances - I'm jealous! Can't wait to see it...
ReplyDeleteFun, hobbity answers! Can't wait for this movie.
ReplyDeleteThe banter with Smaug is one of the best scenes in the book -- can't wait to see it on the big screen.
ReplyDeleteNicole - Thanks; me too!
ReplyDeleteMilo - Yep, looking forward to that too.
I love your answers -- especially the one about writing about the perilous journey rather than taking it ;)
ReplyDelete~ Rhonda Parrish
Rhonda - thanks. Although maybe, on reflection, it's more exciting to take the perilous journey and write about it afterwards?
ReplyDeleteHas to be breakfast first every time!
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Ellie!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely more coffee :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Gollum's "what has it got in its pocketses" line too.
Deniz - Yes, definitely looking forward to the whole riddles in the dark part. Thanks!
