"I don't hear anything."
"Exactly. It's quiet around here. Too quiet."
So, no blog posts here for a while. No particular reason: lots of writing and editing being done and some changes to my daily writing schedule I'm still coming to terms with.
But, a couple of poetic successes to report - I have two haiku in the latest edition of Star*Line, the venerable SF poetry magazine. These are rips tearing the sky and she touches my skin. Lots of great stuff in the issue, by the way - including work by some familiar names - so I'm delighted to be in there.
In other news, it hardly rained at all here today. Which, if you live in the UK, you'll know is pretty amazing for this summer. And yesterday, the sky actually went this weird blue colour for a while. It's not natural I tell you!

A lot of blogs have been quiet this summer, I've noticed.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your haiku!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been posting much, either. 2-3 a week, maybe, when my norm is closer to 3-4.
Congratulations on the haiku! We could use some of your rain here in Southern Ontario.
ReplyDeleteI could pretend to be Bjork and just start screaming if you prefer ;)
ReplyDeleteKaren - I've noticed that, too. Probably just a seasonal thing I guess.
ReplyDeleteGolden Eagle - Thanks! Your posting schedule puts me to shame.
Elizabeth - Thanks! Can we swap weather or something?
Donna - Please do. It might help.
Congrats on the haiku and the blue sky. Where a bit traumatised down here on the so-called 'Sunshine Coast'.
ReplyDeleteThomas - The word is summer might finally arrive next week. Let's hope.
ReplyDeleteHello, TOC buddy. Methinks I have been here before. And methinks I will be again.
ReplyDeleteGood news! And hopefully I might even remember the difference between 'we're' and 'where' (!) by then too.
ReplyDeleteI've heard we're about to get a couple of days of summer this weekend. I live in hope.
ReplyDeleteDeborah - Yep, I noticed your name there! Honoured to be a TOC Buddy again.
ReplyDeleteThomas - That's what editors are for ...
Cate - Me too. Hope it gets sunny for you.
Less blogging = more writing: always a good thing. Star*Line? Way to go, Simon!
ReplyDeleteMilo,
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly a balance. I hope I'm getting it about right...
Yeah, my blog went into sleep-mode and I was off the Net for a while myself, thanks to a vacation that stretched into a three-week hiatus due to hectic life and work stuff.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm back now, more or less, and wanted to wish you congratulations on more publishing success!
Chris - thanks for that. I think it's good to go offline from time to time.
