Flashquake magazine, who bought my flash fiction tale Titania just recently, have been in touch to see if I would like to make an audio version of the story : to record myself reading it so folks can download it as an mp3.
Foolishly I've said yes. Cripes. Slightly regretting it now. Does anyone know any good voice actors?

Congratulations and good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine. We all hate our own voices, but others never hear them the same way. I look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your audio recording. What could possibly go wrong ;)
ReplyDeleteI made a vlog yesterday @@
Oh go on and do this and be sure to tell us when it's all done so we may listen too!!! Yay!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
That's fantastic news, but I'd be saying cripes too. I'm sure you'll sound great, though!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, man. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThomas,
ReplyDeleteThanks, and yes I do hate my own voice. But I'll give it a go! Fortunately it's only a very short story ...
Elaine,
ReplyDeleteWell, public humiliation for one thing!
Old Kitty,
ReplyDeleteI shall!
Ellie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. I shall put on my best Serious Literature voice and see how it goes ...
Thanks Matthew. I shall need luck!
ReplyDeleteCool to be asked, but yikes.
ReplyDeleteI imagine doing the first one will be the worst. After that you'll be podcasting all your works.
Deborah,
ReplyDeleteYikes indeed. I guess we all have to get use to doing things like this. Still, it's not as bad as doing a public reading. That must surely be horrific.
Congratulations!! I always love hearing writers read their work, though I'd dread the recording part too . . . good luck!!
ReplyDeleteThanks A.S. I'll let you all know when it's available.
ReplyDeleteHa. As a poet, I guess I should be doing readings at coffee houses. Scary.
ReplyDeleteDeborah,
ReplyDeleteYes, scary indeed!
Personally, I hate the sound of my own voice; I don't know how my students take it all day. But I think you've got an advantage what with your British accent and all... =]
ReplyDeleteCheers Milo. I'll put on my best Stephen Fry and have a go.
