Had a lovely email from Amy Burns, editor of Spilling Ink Review :
We are in the process of compiling our annual print anthology which will contain all the winning/short-listed entries from our literary competitions as well as the best of the best from our online publications. We would like to include 'Seek Alternative Route' in the Spilling Ink Anthology.
Best of the best! Of course I said yes. It's great when this sort of thing happens : a market coming to the writer to ask if they can publish a story makes a very refreshing change!
Meanwhile, Spilling Ink have announced they'll be running four competitions for 2011. There are entry fees but generous prizes. I'm definitely eying up that flash fiction one ...
All my trousers are in the wash so I'm typing in bathers and a towel. Bloody freezing.
ReplyDeleteBetween your woot and my disgruntled moans are all shades of emotion. Congratulations!
Congratulations Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Whirlochre. That's quite an image. You aren't dripping all over the keyboard are you?
ReplyDeleteBloody well done! It won't be long before I can say, "I knew Simon Kewin before he was famous."
ReplyDeleteWell, I could say it now but it would have less impact!
Thanks Ellen!
ReplyDeletefairyhedgehog,
ReplyDeleteThanks. Somehow I suspect you'll never be able to say that!
Congratulations! You seem to have good news every few days at the moment!
ReplyDeleteThomas,
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm sure it won't last ...
Yay!!!!! Well done Simon Kewin!! I can't wait to get this particular print issue with your story in it!! Yay!!! Take care

Ta Old Kitty, I'll keep you posted.
ReplyDeleteWell-deserved, sir! You're right; it's quite a refreshing change - and a rare one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Golden Eagle!
ReplyDeleteMilo,
ReplyDeleteIndeed. If only it was always like that ...
That's some nice w00tage, all right. 'Gratz (and 'gratz for all the other w00tage you've had recently, too).
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. Yep, it's gone well of late!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations, well deserved! I finally posted the award you gave me and I wish I could give it right back to you. You certainly deserve it!
ReplyDeleteWords Crafter,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that and for your exceedingly kind blog post. I don't recognize myself!
Oh yeah, it's great when they come to you instead of you putting in masses of submissions to get one or no hits. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for a hit for my YA fantasy novel, but we're getting closer.
Thanks Tahlia. Hopefully we'll both get the novel acceptances we want soon ...
