I don't really think of myself as a poet, but perhaps I should as my 65th published poem - Sleeps Beneath the Streets - will be appearing at Hallowe'en in Cthulhu Haiku II. Woo!





Also, the latest edition of Star*Line includes my SF haiku android eyes scanning. Very cool cover too.




And finally! I see that Crowhaunted, published last week over at Every Day Poets, is at number 6 in their all-time top poems list. It is, of course, crass and puerile to rate and rank something so ethereal and subjective as poetry. But, hey, I wonder if we can get it up to No. 5? Those little stars are just crying out to be clicked on...

    That's the funny thing about being a poet. When I first got published, I was like: 'I'm a poet. But I don't feel like one'

    Taking on the mantle of being a short story writer was much easier for me. That's a bit odd. We must share certain expectation, Simon, about what a poet is.

    But safe to say, I think we must accept that we both are!

    Congratulations on your 65th poetry sale. 65th!

      Yes I think you're right - the label "poet" carries with it certain high-brow literary connotations, which it really shouldn't. A poem is just a bunch of words that belong together after all...
