    You put the rest of us to shame, Simon. Your stats make such a great argument for writing short fiction instead of novels. And e-readers have made short stories popular again. You can publish collections for people to read on their iphones while they're waiting for the bus. Easier than getting back into a novel. I wish I'd thought of that a few novels back...
