Three Poems Published on Microcosms

Sunday, 19 June 2011

Delighted to report that I'm featured poet over at Microcosms this week. They've just published three of my short SF/fantasy poems in their twitterstream : First Contact, Shadow Beings and "At Night, When He Sleeps".

I think the last of those is my favourite but I'd love to know what you think ...

  1. Simon Kewin!! I don't understand the twitter format - there is a microcosm that keeps cropping up and is/are your poems all divided up!?!? Sorry - I tried to read, but cannot get my old head and eyes round the twitter format and I've given up - LOL!!!

I'm sure your poems are fab!! Yay for them getting accepted and published!! Take care

  2. Thanks, Summer. I liked the idea of that one; just not sure the rhythm quite works. Or something.

  3. Old Kitty!

The problem is Twitter doesn't do line-breaks, so you have to put a "/" where the line break would be and then mentally interpret as you read. Kinda works when you get the hang of it!

    Many thanks!

  7. Ellie,

Thanks for that. I can't help thinking the man with the lizard scars is an actual Character, with a story waiting to be told ...

  8. Yep, I like the last one the best, too - that part about the scars was excellent. I think you're right - that man with those scars could definitely be a character... :)

  9. Thanks, Madeline. Interesting! Now, why would he have scars like that, I wonder ...

  10. "First Contact" is my favorite, but they are all quite grand. Good work, Simon.
